Red Crow Community College is a First Nations college with locations in Standoff and Lethbridge. Our mission is to meet the cultural, educational, and training needs for Kainaiwa and beyond. The college provides leadership through its programs and service to nurture self-realization based on Kainayssini.
We are currently seeking an Educational Assistant to work as part of the Niitsitapi Health Care Aide program. This role supports students through tutoring, course management and developing learning strategies for student success. The Assistant is responsible of aiding teachers with course development and implementation during the academic school year. Educational Assistants also help teachers with non-instructional tasks.
The successful candidate must be aware and have experience working in inclusive educational settings. The Assistant is personable, helpful and can work effectively in a team environment. The Assistant must be reliable, trustworthy, and maintain confidentiality in all areas. In addition, the Assistant must communicate clearly in speech, writing, and possess strong computer literacy skills.
An Educational Assistant Certificate is required and a Educational Assistant Diploma is an asset plus 2 years of experience in adult teaching and learning. A working knowledge of Blackfoot language and an understanding of Blackfoot culture is an asset. The incumbent will deliver services with respect and understanding of Blackfoot culture by participating in activities that promote Kainayssini.
