Program Details

Red Crow Community College is excited to announce the Niitsitapi Teacher Education Program (NTEP) beginning September 2022. This innovative, unique program is based on our Niitsitapi Ways of Living and Learning; this will be the foundation of the program. Teacher training will also include formal western educational perspectives and pedagogy so that graduates meet the Alberta Teacher Quality Standards. We welcome all potential students to apply. Once students complete NTEP in June 2026, they will receive a Bachelor of Education Degree and be eligible to apply for Alberta Education Teacher Certification.

Admission Requirements

Applicants currently in high school or who are completing academic upgrading must submit proof of enrollment and any available midterm marks. Final marks must be submitted within one month following the completion of the course(s)

High School Diploma

With English 30-1, Social Studies 30-1, Aboriginal Studies 30 at a 65% average, also Grade 11 and mature students can be accepted once given approval

Certificate graduates

Certificate graduates, who achieve a minimum GPA of 2.5 and meet the admission criteria, have the opportunity to transfer into the Olds College second year diploma program.
